Collage a day for a year
The idea for my collage a day project began when I lived in Detroit. I had used old scraps of matte board and many images I had been saving for years to create several collages. They were well received by many people which inspired me to go further with this idea. What started out as a small project in Detroit grew into this grand idea of making a collage a day, for an entire year. First of all I wanted to see if I could actually complete the project and make art every day. I also wanted to break out of a self-induced hiatus I had taken from making art. The collage project was a perfect start.
The collages themselves are made from various things: old textbooks, photos I've taken, found objects, decorative papers, acetate and some drawing. They are all done on six inch by six inch square watercolor paper and archivally mounted on acid free black board. They are for sale for $50 a piece.
